2016 People’s Choice Awards

2016 People's Choice Awards

Let’s talk about last night’s red carpet for the People’s Choice Awards. I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t very pleased with this years’ styling. For some reason, it seemed as though my grandmother’s curtains were a huge trend. (and that is not a good thing) However, I must say there were a handful of looks we did like, which brings us to the fashion Dos and Don’ts on red carpets…. or anywhere for that matter.

DOS

IF

Kate Hudson looked absolutely stunning in an all white, strapless jumpsuit. Sometimes the best thing you can do is just keep it simple and let your natural beauty take over!

IF

Shay Mitchell turned heads wearing a sleek, black halterneck gown. This dress had a completely exposed back and a sexy split that extended to her upper thigh.

IF

Lea Michele’s overall appearance was the perfect mix of classy and sexy. Her long-sleeved mini dress had a high neckline which gave the look elegance. The mesh detailing, showed off just the right amount of skin. Totally worked for her!

Julianne Hough’s tight black gown wow’d us all. Her exposed shoulders and cut outs accentuated her figured beautifully. Overall, I would say she was the crowd favorite!

DONT’S

IF

Lucy Hale… I am just confused. Waist up, I love it, the lace up front is trending right now and the black with nude looks amazing. But once you look at the bottom and it’s just a no. There are too many layers and too much lamp shade going on.

IF

Here’s another one, loving my grandmother’s decor. Claire Danes aged herself in this dress, as opposed to the gown she worn at the Met Gala last year. I understand dressing more mature and elegant but this dress was just not flattering. It would have looked a lot better is it was tailored from the waist down, making it not as puffed out. Also would have loved to see her hair up with a neckline like that.

Now, taking the party outdoors to the picnic table. It looks as though, Troian Bellisario forgot what season it was. I don’t think it was the full pattern that threw me off as much as it being worn at the wrong time. Should’ve saved it for Spring girl!

dont-carlyraejepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen…I can’t tell if I am overwhelmed by the hair or if it’s the whole look all together. This look is screaming for color, maybe even some lipstick, anything to separate this black and white mess. You can leave your number but I probably won’t call you after this.

Do any of you agree? Or if you disagree even better, we’d love to hear your opinion so make sure to leave a comment! xo
