Drum roll… Spring break is one of the best parts of being in college. There, I said it. In college you meet new faces, meet your best friends, boyfriends, teachers, bosses, people you love, and people you don’t. I’m not claiming to be an expert, however, speaking from experience, you have to go on at least one spring break trip. Fork up the money, pack your bags and go! This guide will get you prepped on what to bring and what to expect on your week in paradise.
In preparation, and to clear your mind from all this
clutter , err–snow, watch a few of these infamous spring break movies. Some may be a little out-dated, but hey, who doesn’t love a classic? *For those of you not actually attending spring break, these are for you as well.*
- Spring Breakers
- From Justin To Kelly
- She’s All That
- Van Wilder
- Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds In Paradise
My guess is you’re going somewhere far away, warm and sunny! Here at Vamped we have a great combination of tops, bottoms, dresses, and shoes to keep you looking good no matter where you are. Get ready to show some skin, after all, it has been hiding all winter!
Don’t forget shoes, you really can’t get far without shoes. Stock up on sandals, flip flops and of course wedges! The combination of a few too many drinks, sand, and being in a tropical environment may just sweep you off your feet. Wedges are probably the best way to go, keeping you stable and cute! When going from extreme opposite weather climates, you want to think about your best option for your feet. Sneaker wedges are so in right now and would be the perfect transition from airplane to sand. Not your thing? Go for the Shimmer Flat, it’s comfortable and stylish. Have you noticed anything else about this shoe collection? Majority are all in neutral tones with hints of metallic! Right on track with the spring trends. A few things you definitely do not want to forget:
- A hat
- Beach towel: if necessary!
- Tote/Cross-body purse
Now, I’m not going to sit here and lecture anyone, but seriously, bring sunblock. It’s 2014, we know the dangers of the sun, and while I am totally are rooting for you to get super tan, remember, no one looks good red.
Sunglasses: bring two or three pairs if you’re anything like me. I like to have a few extra’s. One not-so expensive pair because let’s face it, we all have lost at least one pair of sunglasses. I also suggest having one pair that you don’t mind wearing in the pool/ocean. And of course, you need a pair that doesn’t get stuck in your hair. (So annoying!) I’m constantly torn between wanting to wear my sunglasses, but, at the same time, wanting my face to get tan. #TheStruggle
Do: rock a hat. They are super cute and boys dig them!
As for jewelry, rack up that arm candy ladies. I suggest stacking any and all bracelets, mix and match silver, gold, pink, turquoise and orange. As for necklaces, stick to really simple pieces to add an effortless vibe to any summer outfit.
A beach towel is something I’m always on the fence about. Do a little research, it truly depends on where you are going and what type of resort you are staying at. Majority of the time, all-inclusive packaged hotels provide you with beach towels, so there is really no point in taking up precious space in that suitcase of yours!
